PSL 2026 – Lahore Qalandars’ Parvez Hossain Emon out of season with injury

Bangladesh wicketkeeper-batter Parvez Hossain Emon has been ruled out of PSL 2026 with a shoulder injury. He played three matches for Lahore Qalandars and it was during his last game, against Multan Sultans in Lahore, that an on-field collision with Asif Ali resulted in a ligament tear.

The franchise announced Emon’s unavailability for the remainder of the season after the toss of their match against Peshawar Zalmi on Saturday afternoon. He will leave the team at the match’s conclusion.

“MRI scans confirmed a ligament tear, and he has been advised to undergo a period of rest and rehabilitation over the coming weeks,” Qalandars said in a statement. “Following a careful assessment, it has been decided to release him from the squad, with a replacement to be announced in due course.”

The 2026 season was Emon’s first in the PSL and he made a promising start to the tournament, scoring 71 runs in three innings at a strike rate of over 161. His 19-ball 45 was crucial in setting up Qalandars’ 20-run win over Sultans, as it propelled them to 185 for 3 in 13 overs in a rain-curtailed contest.

He was rested for Qalandars’ match against Islamabad United, which they lost by nine wickets on Thursday.
