Olympic skaters beat the competition with this incredible Mortal Kombat-themed performance


Georgian skaters Anastasiia Metelkina and Luka Berulava shared a Mortal Kombat-themed performance at the Olympics over the weekend.

The pair – performing in the Exhibition Gala wherein they are not judged by a panel of experts, but instead the crowd – kicked off by revealing their Mortal Kombat-themed costumes, with Berulava dressed as Sub-Zero, and Metelkina as Kitana.

Then they performed to the iconic theme tune Techno Syndrome, with the routine boasting faux punches, signature moves, and dazed fighters – check it out below:

“The only thing kooler they could have done is a flying spinning kick FATALITY at the end…” said one impressed fighting game fan.

If you’re craving more real-life Mortal Kombat action, don’t forget that Mortal Kombat 2, the upcoming movie based on the infamously gory video game series, will now be releasing a week earlier than planned. You’ll be able to check it out from 8th May, ableit still a few months later than its original October 2025 release date.

The film is being written by Jeremy Slater, the writer behind the critically acclaimed Moon Knight series. The film stars Karl Urban as Johnny Cage, coming off a very successful role in The Boys as Billy Butcher.
