Joy Toy, a popular figurine production company, has announced a line of small-scale Starcraft models as part of a collaboration with Activision Blizzard.
In a blog post to the official Joy Toy website, the company announced it’ll be making models for the Zerg, Protos, and Terran. Exactly what those models are remains a mystery for now, as they’re silhouetted in the announcement post. Details on product information and pre-order schedules are set to come in the future via Joy Toy channels.
These figurines will be a compact size of roughly 10cm, with seemingly five available split across the three playable StarCraft factions.
While it is worth noting that this post explicitly states these models are “based on the characters from the classic game, StarCraft,” the announcement does come at an interesting time for Blizzard and the StarCraft IP.
Not only is 2026 a milestone year for Blizzard, with multiple big announcements teased for Blizzcon later this year, but rumours are circulating around a new StarCraft game in-development at Arc Raiders publisher Nexon. If these reports are accurate, this game’s development would coincide with big shifts at Hearthstone (though not Hearthstone 2) and a massive Overwatch resurgence.
It is, of course, also possible that these figurines are just a nice nostalgic way to show your love for the original StarCraft, and that nothing is going on with StarCraft as the IP remains dormant. It’s totally possible. Place your bets, folks!
