The Cleveland Browns are out of the playoff picture, but they still have a chance to play spoiler and shake up the AFC North when they face the Pittsburgh Steelers in Week 17. Individually, however, Myles Garrett has plenty left to chase.

The star edge rusher sits one sack shy of the single-season record shared by Michael Strahan and T.J. Watt. If that milestone comes Sunday, it could arrive in historic fashion — potentially against 42-year-old Aaron Rodgers, a future first-ballot Pro Football Hall of Famer like Garrett himself. A sack of Rodgers in a record-breaking moment would instantly rank among the most memorable in NFL history.
Myles Garrett says record-breaking sack is coming Sunday
That scenario, of course, hinges on who starts at quarterback. Rodgers is not listed on the injury report, though he is dealing with a fractured wrist on his non-throwing hand. If he were a late scratch, Mason Rudolph would take over — a familiar and infamous matchup for Garrett.
Either way, Garrett isn’t hedging. He has guaranteed a sack on Sunday, regardless of who lines up under center, adding that there is no bad blood between him and Rudolph.

“I don’t think there’s a lot of history between the two of us,” Garrett told reporters Friday. “But whether I get it against him or I get it against Aaron, it makes no difference to me. It gets got.”
Myles Garrett also chasing Bruce Smith’s record
Garrett is also chasing a much larger piece of NFL history. The star pass rusher, who turns 30 on Monday, believes he has a realistic shot at breaking Bruce Smith’s all-time sack record within the next five years. Smith finished his 19-year career with 200 sacks, while Garrett already has 124.5.
“At the pace I am now, I can get it in like five years,” Garrett said. “Five years is right at that time to think I’ll go and hang the cleats up. So I do think about if I can do it. And I think I’m only getting better, I think the numbers will only continue to look similar to how they are right now. So I’ll be knocking on his door pretty soon.”
