Minister Anand to travel to France for bilateral meetings and G7 Foreign Ministers’ Meeting

The Honourable Anita Anand, Minister of Foreign Affairs, today announced that she will travel to Paris and Abbaye des Vaux-de-Cernay, France, from March 25 to 27, 2026, to hold bilateral meetings and participate in the G7 Foreign Ministers’ Meeting.

On March 25, in Paris, Minister Anand will meet with Louise Mushikiwabo, Secretary General of La Francophonie, to officialize Canada’s candidacy to host the Francophonie Summit in 2028 and to reaffirm Canada’s support to the organisation.

From March 26 to 27, at Abbaye des Vaux-de-Cernay, Minister Anand will participate in the G7 Foreign Ministers’ Meeting to strengthen international cooperation on global economic and security challenges. With her G7 counterparts, she will discuss continued support for Ukraine, the situation in the Middle East, the Indo-Pacific and other regional issues, including Haiti and Sudan. The G7 foreign ministers will also work toward greater coordination with partners on global governance, reconstruction and crosscutting threats.
