Lobby Wrap: Quebec natural gas distributor wants to discuss labour issues

A Quebec natural gas distributor is lobbying Ottawa on the labour shortage in the province’s energy sector.

Aside from the labour issue, the company wants to discuss purchasing policies and renewable natural gas by the Government of Canada and Crown corporations as well as on policies and programs aimed at recognizing and supporting the production and use of clean fuels in Quebec, primarily renewable natural gas and hydrogen, according to the mandatory registration for the Office of the Commissioner of Lobbying.

The company also wants to make recommendations on various aspects of the Income Tax Act, including changes to the excessive expenditure rules and North American trade and the potential impact of tariffs on energy costs and availability.

Since Jan. 17, the Greater Toronto Airports Authority was the most registered organization, with four unique registrations made on their behalf. 

Over that span, Sandstone Group and Chris Gray & Associates led all registrant groups with eight unique registrations each.
