Liverpool keeping tabs on Eintracht Frankfurt defender Nnamdi Collins

Nnamdi Collins is the latest Eintracht Frankfurt player to be mentioned in connection with a move to Liverpool.

Last week, it was reported that Nathaniel Brown could leave Frankfurt for £56m, and both Liverpool and Arsenal were said to be interested.

Since then, another report has stated that the two clubs are also leading the chase for Hugo Larsson, who used to play alongside Hugo Ekitike at Frankfurt.

According to Graeme Bailey from TeamTalk, Collins has caught the eye of several clubs, including Arsenal, Manchester City, Newcastle United, Brighton and Hove Albion, and Brentford.

But with the player under contract in Germany until 2030, Frankfurt would need a strong offer to even consider letting him go.

Collins moved from Borussia Dortmund to Frankfurt in 2023 and played alongside Ekitike before the striker made his switch to Liverpool.

He’s played both centre-back and right-back this season for Eintracht Frankfurt.

This season alone he’s featured 14 times at centre-back and seven times as a full-back. Those just happen to be two positions where Liverpool are looking thin at the moment, making a move for the 22-year-old make some sense.

Liverpool aren’t short on competition though. They’re far from alone in their interest. There may be one factor working in their favour though: Virgil van Dijk.

Speaking to German outlet Kicker in September 2025, Collins praised Van Dijk: “I was rooting for Liverpool in the draw. Van Dijk is, in my opinion, the best central defender in the world. I can learn everything from him: his heading ability and timing, his calmness and physical presence, his aura.”

The defender also mentioned how much he admired English football’s top flight – and specifically name-dropped Liverpool when talking about it.
