LG Rolls Out Its W6 Wallpaper OLED TV With Ultra-High Brightness

LG has unveiled its latest wireless TV at CES 2026, the W6 Wallpaper TV, which is only 9mm (0.35 inches) thick and boasts big gains in both color and brightness.

The 4K TV features a new OLED design, which the company says is 3.9 times brighter than conventional OLEDs and incorporates its Brightness Booster Ultra and Hyper Radiant Color Technology.

LG has seemingly taken strides to reduce glare in 2026 and says the “reflection free” W6 has the lowest reflectance among LG TVs, and this should improve watchability in lit rooms. The typical trade-off for similar systems is that black levels can be reduced when the lights are on, though at the show, LG showed CNET a demo that purported to show less reduction in dark areas.

The TV, available in 77-inch and 83-inch sizes, features a wireless connection box that houses the inputs and can be placed up to 30 feet away. The TV still needs to be plugged into a power socket, though.

As with previous high-end models, the TV comes with a comprehensive gaming suite including a 4K 165Hz refresh rate, G-SYNC and AMD FreeSync Premium, and a claimed 0.1ms pixel response time. The W6 HAS also got wallpapers and AI features for people who want to tinker.

Despite its name, the Wallpaper doesn’t roll into a tube but is a revival of the Wallpaper TV, which was discontinued in 2020. The company says it has improved the wall mount, which lets the TV sit flush against the wall from edge to edge.

In past years, the previous M series has been virtually identical to the G Series, just with the addition of a wireless box.

Last year, I named the Samsung S95F the Editors’ Choice for picture quality, and with these improvements — especially the glare-free coating — LG’s W6 seems like it’s taking the fight to its main rival.

Pricing and availability are yet to be revealed.
