Kate Hudson Keeps Her Knee-high Boot Streak Going in New York

Kate Hudson treated a midweek walk in New York City like a two-day boot study: same coat, different finish.

The “Song Sung Blue” star went with Schutz’s Maryana Leather Boot in Dark Chocolate — a pointed-toe, knee-high stiletto in croc-embossed leather. The animal print texture covered the straight cut, knee-high boot from vamp through the shaft, and the high-shine surface showed natural folding at the ankle as she walked.

Schutz prices the Maryana at $298. The brand also offers the style in other finishes, including black leather (both smooth and croc-embossed) and cow-patterned calf hair.

Hudson repeated the outerwear from the day before, wearing a full-length gray fur coat with vertical paneling, a stand collar and wide sleeves. A navy pinstriped dress peeked through the coat at the wrists and along the skirt. Hudson completed the look with dark shoulder bag.

A day earlier in New York, Hudson used that same coat as the throughline and swapped the footwear story to white, choosing a slouchy stiletto knee-high pair in smooth leather and carrying an ivory shearling shoulder bag. She also layered the outerwear over a gray-and-bisque paneled skirt. The white pair kept her in the same current run of knee-high white boots that’s included recent pairs worn by Simone Biles, Ashanti and Charli XCX.

Hudson’s December back-to-back built on a boot-heavy stretch from her “Song Sung Blue” press run. At an October screening of the film in Los Angeles, she wore chocolate suede calf boots with a pointed toe and a looser shaft, styling them with a tonal suede skirt and a satin top. At a November screening in Los Angeles, she switched to Tory Burch’s cognac Twisted-Heel High Boots, a smooth leather knee-high pair finished with a softened square toe.

Wednesday’s Schutz choice stayed in the pointed-toe lane, but it added croc embossing to the mix and pushed the brown tone deeper than her earlier suede pair. It also made the coat repeat feel like a deliberate styling move — boots doing the work, outfit on repeat.
