Kate Hudson Brings Back Boho in Strappy Cord Sandals at Spirit Awards

Kate Hudson stuck to her boho style roots on Sunday night, wearing strappy cord sandals with a Chloé pre-fall 2026 ensemble for the 2026 Film Independent Spirit Awards.

The sandals featured thin black cords arranged in a V-shaped formation over the toes, set on a pointed sole with a smooth edge. A small silver cylindrical connector joined the straps at the center. Additional cords wrapped once around the ankle and tied at the side, and a slim stiletto heel, which could be seen in photos posted on social media from stylist Sophie Lopez, completed the silhouette.

Hudson paired the heeled sandals with Chloé pre-fall 2026 separates. The look included a black camisole-style top with lace trim, a structured tier combining fabric with a leather-like ruffled panel and wide-leg trousers finished with ankle ties, complementing the cord construction of her shoes.

Hudson’s connection to boho traces back to “Almost Famous,” where Penny Lane’s 1970s wardrobe set the course for the flowing silhouettes she wore through the 2000s and still revisits to this day. That history has surfaced in parts of her footwear this season as well, including January’s Aquazzura’s ’70s-inspired Romance Plateau 130 sandals and the knee-high Schutz Maryana boots she wore in December during her “Song Sung Blue” press stops.

Hudson’s other awards-season picks — from a white stiletto knee-high pair to Lanvin’s two-tone slingbacks and Giuseppe Zanotti’s Sylvy platforms — rounded out the mix before Sunday’s corded sandal.

Hudson attended the ceremony as a presenter, appearing onstage to award Best Lead Performance to Rose Byrne while continuing her awards-season schedule for “Song Sung Blue.” She was joined by the likes of Keke Palmer, Issa Rae, Kirsten Dunst and Ego Nwodim, among others.
