Jets’ Aaron Glenn, Darren Mougey earn A’s in 2026 NFLPA report cards

The New York Jets finished the 2025 NFL season with not only one of the worst records in franchise history, but also one of the worst point differentials along the way. New York had thoughts about competing in the first half of the season, but they pivoted to a full rebuild halfway through the campaign. The season didn’t seem to be all bad, however.

ESPN’s Kalyn Kahler recently published the results of the 2026 NFLPA report cards and surprisingly, Jets head coach Aaron Glenn received an A grade for his performance while general manager Darren Mougey received an A-. Per Kahler, the results are from the responses of 1,759 players that ranked franchises based on categories including team ownership and the weight room.

In terms of overall rank when considering all of the responses, the Jets are ranked 18th out of 32 teams and that is impressive considering that the franchise is coming off one of its worst seasons in the history of the organization. Glenn, who was in his first season as the head coach, and Mougey, in his first campaign as the general manager for New York, embarked on a season that was trying from the coaches down to the players.

The Jets began the season with optimism due to the amount of changes within the organization, but they promptly began the 2025 campaign with a seven-game losing streak before beating the Cincinnati Bengals 39-38 in Week 8. New York was unable to get sufficient quarterback play from Justin Fields, Tyrod Taylor, or Brady Cook, but the running game was at least serviceable thanks to running back Breece Hall and his 1,065 rushing yards and four touchdowns.

By Week 8, the Jets traded away cornerback Sauce Gardner to the Indianapolis Colts for two first-round picks and wide receiver Adonai Mitchell and dealt defensive tackle Quinnen Williams to the Dallas Cowboys for two first-round picks and defensive tackle Mazi Smith. Ultimately, the Jets went through plenty of hardship during the 2025 season, but it seems like the players were still approving of the performance of Glenn and Mougey.
