Jakobi Meyers Traded to Jaguars From Raiders for NFL Draft Picks, Updated Depth Chart

Jakobi Meyers has gotten his wish.

The Las Vegas Raiders wideout traded to the Jacksonville Jaguars on Tuesday in exchange for fourth-and-sixth-round NFL draft picks. Adam Schefter of ESPN first reported the deal.

Dianna Russini of The Athletic reported that the Buffalo Bills and Pittsburgh Steelers were among the teams pursuing Meyers before the deal with the Jaguars.

The trade gives the Jaguars a stockpile of picks in the 2026 draft, even after the team gave up its 1st-round selection in April’s trade to land Travis Hunter.

Meyers and the Raiders were unable to agree on an extension this offseason, leading the veteran wideout to request a trade following the preseason. The Raiders reportedly denied that request originally but eventually reversed course.

Meyers, 28, was excellent for the Raiders in two seasons, accumulating 158 receptions for 1,834 yards and 12 touchdowns across 31 games. He was the team’s top wideout last season after Davante Adams was traded to the New York Jets, though tight end Brock Bowers emerged as the No. 1 overall target in the passing game.

Meyers is entering the final year of his contract, however, and was clearly seeking some long-term financial security and a raise ahead of his potential free agency. Suffering an injury in the 2025 season could potentially impact his earning potential ahead of his next contract, and given his production over the past two seasons, he’s undoubtedly outplayed his current deal.

The Raiders and Meyers didn’t see eye-to-eye on the manner, and now TEAM will have to decide what he’s worth in a potential extension. It’s hard to imagine they would have acquired him without planning to extend him, however.

Meyers’ addition comes at a time when Jacksonville is without Hunter, who was placed on injured reserve last week after suffering a non-contact injury in practice.

Schefter reported that Hunter’s ACL is intact, with Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reporting Hunter is “not expected to be out long-term.”

In Hunter’s absence, Meyers will slot in alongside Brian Thomas Jr., who has struggled this season, catching 30 passes for 420 yards and one touchdown after a strong rookie campaign.
