I grew up in upstate NY, so trips to Ontario and Quebec were common and easy, and there was seldom any friction between locals and US tourists.
Now I am fascinated with your Atlantic and Maritime Provinces and would love to take a trip to Newfoundland and Labrador, etc. before I am too old (currently 57).
Will I be welcome? Will most Canadians still see me as a neighbor, given what our deranged POTUS is saying and doing? Or am I likely to be seen as unwanted?
I am ashamed that the current occupant of the White House doesn’t understand the long history of cooperation and friendship between our nations. I want very much to see and experience more of Canada, but if I should wait until things (hopefully) settle down, I totally get it.
Would love to hear your thoughts if you have the time.

@angiestown Same. We live right on the border, with lax water access and everything, and NOBODY is crossing right now unless they have to

I like to think we’d welcome you. Unless you come over here to “cause trouble”, there is absolutely NO reason to think we wouldn’t welcome you.middleagedandoutoftouch liked this
