How to solve Arc Raiders’ Buried City music puzzle

Raiders, gather round, because the Arc Raiders Buried City music puzzle solution has been found, less than 24 hours after it was added to the game in the Cold Snap update.

Deemed by many to be the most difficult puzzle in the game so far, you may have spied part of the puzzle if you’ve ventured onto Buried City recently. There are now 15 buttons spread throughout the map, and each one corresponds to a musical note. That’s because there’s also a locked door, and the gist of it is that every button needs to be pressed in a specific order — indicated by some musical note graffiti in the same building as the door — to unlock it.

Here’s the Buried City music puzzle solution in Arc Raiders, along with an explanation on why the reward isn’t quite worth the hassle.

As you can see in the image above, all 15 buttons are marked, with No. 15 being the one in front of the door. Starting with the button in Plaza Rosa and slowly making your way all over the map, completing all of them in order will unlock the door, and you’ll reap the rewards inside.

Problem is, the button presses are server side, rather than client side. This means if a single player in your raid presses one of the buttons out of order, it will mess up your progress, and you’ll need to start over. Since it takes around 20 minutes to complete, if you try to run the full route according to a Reddit post, you absolutely need a full squad to tackle this.

Buried City music puzzle reward

What do you get for completing the most difficult puzzle Arc Raiders has seen yet? Uh, some guitars. That’s right, until now the only instrument in the game has been the recorder, but this puzzle introduces acoustic guitars, which are considered legendary items. Since the game has also now added shakers, all we need is a drum set, get a front person on the microphone, and you’ve got a full band.

It’s a fun little Easter egg, but if you were hoping for something actually useful in the fight against either Arc enemies or other players, you’re out of luck. You do get some useful loot for completing “The Clean Dream” quest though.
