Though they were popularized in the ’70s, clogs aren’t immune to the trend cycle. Much like every other shoe silhouette, the chunky look frequently comes in and out of vogue. But, according to Halle Berry, clogs are firmly back for spring. On Friday, the “Catwoman” actress put her spin on the look while out and about in Paris, styling a black leather pair with a long burnt orange coat.

Berry’s clogs hail from Ancient Greek Sandals, a brand that specializes in modern footwear inspired by ancient Greek gods. The shoes boasted a closed, rounded toe, nodding to the silhouette’s traditional, utilitarian roots. A 70mm wooden block heel grounded the design, adding height while maintaining stability. Gold studs traced the silhouette for a touch of edge, while a slingback strap adorned with a gold buckle secured the fit. Studded clogs have been picking up speed these past few seasons, with designers like Gucci, RE/DONE, Simon Miller and Vince offering their own distinct takes on the trend.

With the brisk Paris forecast, Berry kept warm in a calf-length coat featuring wide, notched lapels and an open-front design. The silhouette fell to Berry’s mid calves, making it ideal for layering. Underneath, the actress opted for a cozy white ribbed sweater with side zippers. Her relaxed, slouchy jeans played up the look’s polished yet laid-back aesthetic. A brown woven tote and oversized sunglasses served as the finishing touches.

Berry is currently in Paris filming “Fleur,” an upcoming drama film directed by Ellie Foumbi. In the movie, Berry stars as the titular character, a New York housewife who runs off to Paris after 30 years of marriage, becoming an elite escort and dominatrix. The film also features Matthias Schoenaerts, Makita Samba and Marton Csokas.
