It appears that GTA 6 developer Rockstar have been subjected to yet another hack. Earlier today, The Cybersec Guru shared a report that a hacker group by the name of ShinyHunters had added Rockstar Games to its dark web leak site. The hack apparently wasn’t directly targeted at Rockstar or their Snowflake data warehouse, but at Anodot, a SaaS cloud-cost monitoring tool Rockstar uses.

ShinyHunters offered the following statement, directed at the Grand Theft Auto developer: “Rockstar Games. Your Snowflake instances were compromised thanks to Anodot.com. Pay or leak. This is a final warning to reach out by 14 Apr 2026 before we leak along with several annoying (digital) problems that’ll come your way. Make the right decision. Don’t be the next headline. FINAL WARNING PAY OR LEAK.” However, it sounds like Rockstar aren’t all that worried about the hack.

In a statement provided to IGN, a Rockstar Games spokesperson said that they “can confirm that a limited amount of non-material company information was accessed in connection with a third-party data breach. This incident has no impact on our organization or our players.” What data, then, has been captured is anyone’s guess, though I suppose we may find out more on April 14th.

Whatever the result, it’s unlikely to be as big as the infamous leak from back in 2022. That one saw a lot of early in-game footage prior to any formal reveal, and raised a number of concerns over the future of the game itself at the time. Since then, a proper look has been shared, even if no real gameplay has been shared, and two delays have taken place, the second positioning it for a November 19th, 2026 release date. Rockstar are also currently embroiled in an ongoing legal case with a number of developers they fired over supposedly leaking information about the upcoming game.
