Government announces appointments to the Canada Deposit Insurance Corporation

The Government of Canada remains committed to appointing highly qualified candidates who are able to best serve the interests of Canadians, through open, transparent and merit-based selection processes for all Governor-in-Council appointments.

In keeping with this commitment, the Minister of Finance and National Revenue, the Honourable François-Philippe Champagne, announced the appointment of Gina Byrne as acting President and Chief Executive Officer of the Canada Deposit Insurance Corporation (CDIC), effective October 1, 2025, and Martin Glynn as Chairperson of the Board of Directors, for a five-year term. Minister Champagne also thanked the outgoing President and CEO Leah Anderson, and Chairperson Robert Sanderson, for their service to CDIC over the past four and nine years, respectively.
