HUMBLE, Texas — For the second week in a row, the Cyclonitas were in the state of Texas for their meet. This time, the Houston area hosted the Chevron Collegiate meet. The stacked field had ten ranked teams among the 17-team meet. Monday saw competitors tackle 36 holes while on Tuesday they played 18 holes.
Iowa State tied for fourth with SMU with team scores of 858 for the three-round event. The Cyclones shot 292 for the first round, 285 for the second and 281 for the third round. 16th ranked North Carolina won the event. Iowa State is currently ranked No. 27. There were three Big 12 teams at the event in total with Baylor placing third and TCU tying for sixth place in the final team scores. Iowa State finished ahead of six of the nine other ranked teams at the meet.

On the final day of competition on Feb. 24, the Cyclonitas moved up two spots in the final team scores to tie for fourth place. Iowa State shot their current season tournament low of a seven-under round to make the jump. Four of the five Iowa State players shot under par in their final round.
Final round scores for Iowa State were Alexandra Vidal 69, Isabella Yan 70, Karisa Chul-Ak-Sorn 71, Pammy Chookaew 71, and Nichakorn Pinprayoon 73. Vidal had five birdies in her final round. Chookaew also had five birdies in her final round.
After day one on Feb. 23, the Cyclones were tied for sixth place as a team, aided by a round-2 team score of three-under par. Nichakorn Pinpraypoon and Pammy Chookaew led Iowa State after the first day, tied for 19th with a one-under two-round score of 143. Alexandar Vidal was third for Iowa State after shooting one-over and tied for 31st. Other Cyclone finishers were Karisa Chui-Ak-Sorn tied for 41st and Isabella Yan tied for 72nd.
The Cyclones are back in action at the Mountain View Collegiate meet in Tuscan, Arizona on March 20-22. That meet is the only meet in March for the Cyclones. After that, Iowa State will be in action in three meets in April with the first on April 7-8 at the Wyoming Cowgirl Classic in Maricopa, Arizona. The Big 12 Championship meet will be on April 23-25 in Dallas, Texas.

Pinprayoon Named Big 12 Women’s Golfer of the Week
Sophomore Nichakorn Pinprayoon joined teammate Pammy Chookaew recently after earning Big 12 honors. Pinprayoon was named the Big 12 Golfer of the Week following her first career victory. It is the first Big 12 Golfer of the Week for her. Chookaew was named the Big 12 Golfer of the Month last September.
Pinprayoon earned medalist honors in a field of 81 golfers at the Cyclones meet before their recent outing, the Texas Golf Throwdown. She had rounds of 69-71-70 to finish with a score of 210 (-6). Her consistent play included a bogey free final round. She totaled 10 birdies in the 54-hole event in helping the Cyclones win the meet.
