Four men have been arrested on suspicion of murder after a man was stabbed to death and two other men were injured outside a nightclub in south-east London.

The Metropolitan police said officers were called at 3.54am on Monday to reports of a disturbance involving a group of people outside a nightclub in Ruby Street, Peckham.

Officers and paramedics from the London ambulance service found a 26-year-old man with stab injuries, who died at the scene despite the efforts of emergency services.

His next of kin have been informed and are being supported by specialist officers, police said.

Two other men in their 20s were also found injured at the scene, both of whom remain in hospital in a life-threatening condition.

Four men, one aged 18 and three aged 24, were arrested later on Monday on suspicion of murder and remain in custody.

DCI Neil John, who is leading the Met’s investigation, said: “This is a deeply tragic incident, and our thoughts are with the victim’s family during this difficult time.

“We have already arrested four men and our investigation continues at pace. We are aware of the concern that this will cause the local community and those in the area will notice an increased police presence throughout the day.

“This assault occurred outside a busy nightclub, and we’d encourage anyone who has any information, dashcam or mobile phone footage which could support the investigation to contact us.”
