Filmmaker Johnny Ma reveals what he has learned about Winnipeg


Ma presented the film at the Toronto International Film Festival in 2024, a kind of homecoming for him since Toronto welcomed him from Shanghai when he was 10, and before moving to Vancouver, where he became a filmmaker, with feature credits including Old Stone (which won the best Canadian first feature award at 2016 Toronto International Film Festival), and To Live to Sing (2019), both of which were shot in China.
