The South Korean government has honored League of Legends player ‘Faker’ with his own commemorative postage stamp.
Lee ‘Faker’ Sang-hyeok is one of the most prolific League players in history and a famous figure within the wider esports community.
He’s the most-decorated League pro of all time, having won six World Championships and two Mid-Season Invitationals, as well as boasting 10 combined LCK and Champions Korea titles.
Because of his contributions to South Korea’s esports prowess, the government has recognized his star power by putting his face on an official postage stamp.

South Korea’s Postal Business Headquarters under the Ministry of Science and ICT announced the stamp on April 6, 2026. This marks the very first time an esports pro has been placed on an official government stamp in the country.
Like other nations, South Korea releases commemorative stamps in recognition of important historical figures, events, and other significant milestones. Faker’s achievements in League of Legends esports were enough to grant him this special honor, which will be available for South Korean residents to purchase starting October 2026.
This isn’t the first time Faker has been recognized by his government; in January, South Korean President Lee Jae-myung awarded him the Cheongyeong Medal, the country’s highest honor for sporting achievements.
At the award ceremony, President Jae-myung praised Faker’s “outstanding meritorious services” in boosting South Korea’s global reputation. The moment heralded a substantial shift in the way esports is viewed in the country, with Faker’s achievements placing pro League alongside traditional sports.
In 2024, he became the very first player inducted into LoL Esports’ Hall of Legends, and even scored a collaboration with McDonald’s in late 2025. It’s been a wild few years for the 29-year-old gamer, who is continuing his 14-year career by competing under T1 as a Mid Lanner for the 2026 pre-season.
