You and your gaming buddies may have just found your next multiplayer obsession
Epic Games is only giving away one free PC game this week, but it’s a beloved multiplayer hit. For a limited time, you can claim a chaotic “voxel slice-’em-up” for free.
Clone Drone in the Danger Zone
Clone Drone in the Danger Zone was released in summer 2021 and has garnered over 17,000 “Overwhelmingly Positive” reviews on Steam in the years since. It’s a chaotic fighter that arms you and other gladiators with laser swords and tosses you into an arena. You’ll slice your foes into tiny voxel pieces while trying to make sure your own limbs don’t get hacked off too.
Clone Drone in the Danger Zone has several game modes to enjoy. You can go solo in a story mode, endless mode, and challenge mode, which gives you a limited arsenal. Streamers might enjoy Twitch mode, in which their Twitch stream viewers can spawn enemies in their game. Play co-op online, challenge your friends to 1v1 duels, and try to survive the Battle-Royale-like mode Last Bot Standing.
Epic has figured out how to sell the Epic Games Store: Fortnite freebies
This year, 40 games will launch on EGS with Fortnite pre-order bonuses
If Clone Drone in the Danger Zone catches your eye, all you need to do is log in to the Epic Games Store and claim the game. It will be free until Thursday, April 9, at 11 a.m. EDT.
Separate from the usual giveaway is Tomak: Save the Earth Regeneration, which is being made free for an extended time. It’s a remastered version of the original game from 2001 and has you trying to keep the Goddess of Love alive. The catch? She’s just a head planted in a flower pot in your room. Tomak: Save the Earth Regeneration was released today, April 2, and will be free for two weeks, until April 16. After that, it will cost $8.99.
