Construction is ‘gating factor’ for AI data centers. Space won’t be.

Space-based solar energy company Aetherflux is planning the launch of its “Galactic Brain” project, which will see AI data center compute being performed from space, for the first quarter of 2027. Aetherflux aims to solve and address concerns around data center cooling and energy sourcing through this endeavor.

Aetherflux founder and CEO Baiju Bhatt joins Yahoo Finance executive editor Brian Sozzi to illustrate the current state of the AI infrastructure race — including NIMBY (Not In My Back Yard) concerns — and the company’s plans for its first test of energy beaming from space to Earth.

Bhatt is the co-founder and former co-CEO of Robinhood Markets (HOOD).

Hear Baiju Bhatt explain Aetherflux’s plans to harness solar energy for AI data centers from outer space.

xAlso catch Yahoo Finance’s interview with Reddit (RDDT) co-founder Alexis Ohanian, where the tech executive cites space-based data centers as the next innovation to come.
