Cathie from Canada: Today’s News: “He’s an idiot”

I just had to share these words from Ruben Gallego, senator from Arizona – “He’s an idiot”:

Trump is mad at NATO because he didn’t get that Nobel Peace Prize – what a toddler:

And today, Trump “was awarded” the prize:

This guy went to war to capture someone else’s Nobel Peace Prize. What an incredibly stupid timeline.

A useful update on Greenland:

I think it’s time for a summary.

Denmark is preparing to host an exercise in Greenland. The timing of that exercise is certainly aimed at sending a message. What is happening now is that the various planning staffs are deploying. This means very small numbers from allies that will participate.

Thus Sweden is sending a dozen, the French and Dutch a few people, the UK one planner, the Norwegians an contingent and, despite Canada’s somewhat less then categorical denials, a potential Canadian presence as a planning measure. In the interim, the Danes are deploying more to Greenland as an obvious signal.

While this is an exercise, it sends a blatant message to Washington. First, the Danes are more than capable of deploying significant military resources to Greenland. Second, it will not need to do so alone and third, alliance solidarity, at least in the northern NATO states, is solid.

I fear that Washington is making a serious miscalculation. It assumes that Europe is weak & divided. It assumes that it has exclusive access to capable military forces. And it assumes that the Danes won’t defend Greenland, should it – surreally – come to that. Hubris is a terrible thing.

Republicans are actually talking about impeachment now, or at least a few of them are:

NEWS: Republican Congressman Don Bacon says that if Trump invades Greenland, there will be enough Republican support in the House to impeach him.

Republicans: “The p€dophilia thing we can take it but invading Greenland, it’s reaching a way too far” JFC 🙄🤦🏽‍♂️

They’re startled that they’re no longer considered the world’s good guys:

Our allies are literally doing troop buildups against us

Putin is loving this

Also, have to share these ones:

A useful observation from Phillips O’Brien:

Hi All, Will Trump attack Iran a second time? Well, it depends on a few things. The attack will have to be short, will have to seem big and dramatic, and he will have to be able to claim victory afterwards. It is the Trump Template For Military Operations. open.substack.com/pub/phillips…

An update on Ukraine:

You cannot back Donald Trump and support Ukraine. Trump has helped Putin by starving Ukraine of air defense (which the Russians understand). Trump is helping Putin freeze Ukrainian cities, turn off Ukrainian lights and, ultimately, kill Ukrainians.
And he has been doing this for almost one year.

Finally, an update on Carney’s trade talks with China:

🔴 😂😂 Yep.

The fact that over the last 48 hours, countless multitudes of American MAGA muppets have descended on Canadian social media to hurl insults and IRE regarding Team Canada’s ongoing trade talks with China, and to tell us that we are “finished” as a Nation, and that we are communists, and that China is going to betray us, blah, blah, blah… 🗣️

Tells me that Prime Minister Carney is 100% making the right moves! 😌👍🏼

JUST IN: 🇨🇦🇨🇳 Prime Minister Carney says Canada’s partnership with China “sets us up well for the new world order.”

Is “new world order” still some kind of MAGA red flag?

Carney visited Korea in October to inspect Hanwha Ocean’s shipyard. We’re probably buying submarines and several other weapons systems from South Korea. I’m less familiar with recent engagements with Japan, but we’ve been talking with Jakarta too so we’re not betting it all on China.
