Cathie from Canada: Some happy to enjoy

Oh, aren’t we all just tired of feeling like everything everywhere all at once is going wrong?

I can hardly stand to hear Trump anymore, or Poilievre, or listen to MSNBC – or whatever they are called now.

So I thought I should just post a few of the happy posts I’ve seen lately. At least it will give me a blog post to look back on when I need a lift.

I guess 2026 is the Year of the Horse and that’s great isn’t it.

So, I say,
nobody has actually seen the horses?

No, she says, but a myth about wild
horses is just as real as the wild itself.
She says that everything, at its best,
is a wild horse. The earth is a wild

horse, she says, and so is the sky. She
says you’re a wild horse and so am I.

I like to name years in advance. I’m calling 2026, “Triumph”.

Its always a pleasure to see Carney enjoying his life:

@ctvottawa spotted Prime Minister Mark Carney out for a skate at the opening of the Rideau Canal season. Few things are more Canadian than this. It feels like a fitting Happy New Year.

Next, I also remember the Battle of Billings Bridge and the plaque posted a year later by volunteers, which was taken down by the City of Ottawa a lot faster than they got rid of the Convoy:

Great news:

Wanna see real-life miracles? Fund scientific research.

A team of US scientists just cured Alzheimer’s in mice — and there is now hope that the disease can be reversed in humans.

I watched the last Stranger Things finale and it was, well, not bad, really. At least they didn’t all just wake up from a dream – though I still don’t know why El … nope, no spoilers.
