In 2008, he was sued by the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, which claimed that planning and construction flaws resulted in leaks and cracks in the $300 million Gehry-designed Stata Center, a science building. Gehry said those problems were minor and inevitable in such a complex structure, and the case was “amicably resolved” in 2010, according to a joint statement by the university, Gehry and the builder, Skanska USA Building Inc.
