Brie Larson took the Princess Rosalina brief all the way to the floor on Saturday in Kyoto, wearing silver metallic pumps with a custom Rodarte gown for “The Super Mario Galaxy Movie” premiere at Minamiza Theater. Larson voices the Nintendo princess in the animated film.

Larson wore silver pumps with long pointed toes that narrowed gradually before ending in a slightly softened tip. The opening cut low across the foot and exposed most of the top line. A slim stiletto heel lifted the back. No strap, buckle, platform, crystal trim or cap-toe break interrupted the shape, and its reflective surface pulled purple from the carpet, giving the shoes a space-like sheen.
Larson’s custom Rodarte gown also stayed in Princess Rosalina territory. The dress featured short puffed sleeves with ruched gathering, a softly draped V-neckline and a silver star set at the center of the bust where the fabric twisted inward. From there, the silhouette released into a long, fluid skirt with a gentle flare and a loose, floor-skimming hem. The silver pumps extended that same aqua-and-silver story from the ground up.

The Kyoto shoes also marked a cleaner turn inside Larson’s recent pump rotation. Her Aquazzura Bow Tie pumps in New York and her Miu Miu buckle-strap slingbacks on “The View” both added more to the silhouette. This pair relied on metallic finish and line instead of straps or embellishment.
That quieter pump direction with a metallic silver finish has been moving elsewhere on recent carpets too. Sarah Paulson wore Paris Texas’ silver mirrored Lidia slingbacks to the 2026 SAG Awards, while Jennifer Hudson opted for silver metallic pumps at the 2026 Grammys. Both looks pointed to the same shift back toward polished silver footwear with a stronger toe and less decoration.

The contrast showed up a few feet away. Anya Taylor-Joy, who voices Princess Peach, wore white Jimmy Choo Minny sandals to the same Kyoto premiere, staying with the lean, open evening-shoe line she has kept in rotation on this press tour.
