Amazon’s Luna Games Launch on Xfinity Devices

Following the resurrection of Luna games this past October, Amazon is expanding its reach to bring the action to more streaming devices. Amazon and Comcast have partnered up to bring Amazon Luna cloud gaming to Xfinity devices, the companies announced Thursday.

If you have an X1 or Xumo Stream Box, you can play games such as Hogwarts Legacy, Batman: Arkham Knight or GameNight titles like Courtroom Chaos Starring Snoop Dogg and Goat Simulator 3. The platform offers over 50 games that you can enjoy solo or as a multiplayer experience. Besides having an eligible Xfinity device, you will also need a Prime membership in order to play.

Rather than clicking multiple tiles on the screen, gamers can simply say, “Luna” into the voice remote, and prompts to sign in to a Prime account or Luna Premium account will appear. Once the gaming platform loads, it’s your decision to use a mobile phone as a controller or grab a compatible Luna or Bluetooth controller to play (there’s a whole list of Luna-compatible controllers).

“At Amazon, we’re focused on making gaming more accessible for our customers, and this collaboration with Comcast allows us to reach more customers across the US,” said Amazon Luna General Manager Jeff Gattis. “Comcast’s reach and versatility make it a great fit as we continue to scale Amazon Luna and its growing content library across more devices, more homes and more players.”

TV providers are increasingly moving into gaming for their streaming and pay-TV customers. Netflix also offers mobile and TV video games, Crunchyroll has a gaming arm and Sling TV has its own string of arcade games for subscribers.
