This Easter Sunday saw the current
American Airlines Chief Executive Officer, Robert Isom, and the former airline CEO, Doug Parker, travel back on the same flight from Paris, France, to Dallas/Fort Worth, Texas. As reported by Garry Leff from A View From The Wing, both the CEOs families were traveling with them on the long-haul flight, and undoubtedly would have used the travel time across the Atlantic to ‘catch up’.
It remains unclear if the duo intended to travel on the same flight for any main purpose, and the report doesn’t outline whether either of the executives used time to chat with flight attendants onboard before they departed for the airline’s hub. It is claimed that both were sporting rather trendy and expensive Gucci shopping bags.
Robert Isom And Doug Parker Travel Together From Paris To Dallas
Following the two’s rendezvous in the ‘City Of Love’ ( Paris), it is unclear whether it was just a coincidence or something more deliberate. The former airline CEO, Parker, was the first of the passengers on board the flight from
Paris Charles De Gaulle Airport (CDG) to
Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport (DFW).
With both of their families in tow, the Parkers and Isoms skipped the pre-boards to be on the plane first, and allegedly did not acknowledge any other customers on their journey. They secured the first six seats in business class for the ten-hour and 40-minute journey from France to Texas.
It is not uncommon for Isom to not stop and speak with paying customers. While Isom would call customers during the pandemic, now he does very little with customers or even employees. Parker, on the other hand, used to spend a lot of time pre-boarding aircraft and speaking with crew before scheduled flights.
All Aboard AA49 From CDG To DFW
American maintains a daily service from Paris to Dallas/Fort Worth, and it is operated by the carrier’s Boeing 777-200 aircraft. This Easter Sunday, the flight was operating at AA49 and, as per Flightradar24, was scheduled to depart from the busy French airport at 10:00 am. The flight was moderately delayed, eventually departing from Paris Charles de Gaulle at 11:15 am (one hour and 15 minutes late).
The flight took off from CDG in a westerly direction, before changing course above north-western Paris to head north across the English Channel, the United Kingdom, before its journey across the North Atlantic Ocean. The plane found its cruising altitude at 34,000 feet, with an average ground speed of around 478 knots.
The plane, which carried registration N790AN, eventually touched down at Dallas/Fort Worth at 2:44 pm, slightly behind its 1:50 pm scheduled arrival time (56 minutes late). It remains unclear if Isom and Parker disembarked the plane together.

Aircraft Information: N790AN
The aircraft operating the flight, a 25.8-year-old 777-223ER, was first introduced to the American Airlines fleet back in June 2000. Its current configuration can carry a total of 273 passengers across three classes. For both Isom and Parker, they were seated in business class (of course), and on board this plane, it features the Concept D, which features both forward and rear-facing seats.
This aircraft took its first test flight back on June 9, 2000, before being delivered to
American later that month on June 22, 2000. The plane is powered by two Rolls-Royce Trent 892 engines, and it carries the manufacturer’s serial number of 30251. Further details of the aircraft below as per ch-aviation:
