Adrienne Foster joins the Hotel Association of Canada, Cassandra DiChiara added to Spark*Advocacy, Counsel Public Affairs enlists Summer Hou as account director

Adrienne Foster joins the Hotel Association of Canada (HCA) as chief of their advocacy and public affairs.

In a statement posted on LinkedIn Adrienne announced her hiring at HCA stating, “With so much shifting across both our world and the hotel industry, I’m committed to the important work ahead: supporting our members, strengthening our industry, and helping us stay future‑focused.”

Adrienne brings a wealth of experience from throughout the hospitality sector, with her previous role being director of strategy and corporate planning for Destination Canada from 2016 to 2021. Prior to that she was director of research and public affairs at the Tourism Industry of Canada from 2014 to 2016.

Meanwhile, Cassandra DiChiara is joining Spark*Advocacy as an account director.

In a release posted on Linkedin, the Spark*Advocacy shared the experience Cassandra brings to the firm, “With training in both Advertising and Fine Arts, Cassandra blends creativity with strategy. She is known for creating structure in high-pressure environments, helping teams stay coordinated and deliver seamlessly.” 

In her new role, the firm specified that Cassandra “works closely with clients to translate complex priorities into clear, compelling narratives to help associations and organizations communicate with purpose in evolving political and public contexts.”

Finally, Counsel Public Affairs has brought on board Summer Hou as an account director with their Ontario Practice, based in Toronto.

In a press release on their website, Tim Hudak, a partner at the firm stated “Summer’s deep experience at the centre of government decision‑making, combined with her sharp strategic instincts and ability to manage complex, high‑stakes files, makes her an outstanding addition to Counsel”.

Prior to joining Counsel Public Affairs, Summer worked in the office of the Treasury Board Secretariat, as a senior policy advisor from June 2024 to February 2026. As well as in the Office of the Premier of Ontario as an advisor in the research and legislative affairs from August 2022 to June 2024.
