A really interesting piece in the Daily Mail today looks at Chelsea’s ongoing interest in Alex Scott.
We’re all hearing that the Blues are going to make another bid for the midfielder in January, but there’s also discussion of our attempts to sign him back in the summer.
The Blues apparently made three offers for the 23 year old, with the highest one £68m. That was never going to get the job done – they want £100m.
Bournemouth still hope to persuade Scott to stay

Bournemouth owner Bill Foley was on TalkSport today where he not only denied Scott was for sale, but also claimed he and his team were still trying to get the midfielder to sign a new contract:

“We’d love to have Alex stay here and sign a new contract and be a part of this team for the long haul and we’re still working on it. We haven’t given up,” he said.
They probably know it’s not realistic to keep the star with them forever, but they can certainly get him onto a new deal with a release clause that helps them maximise the money they get when he is sold.
In other news…
Mike Penders is preparing for his first Premier League start for Chelsea – you’d worry he’s nervous, but he doesn’t seem the type.
Estevao has a bright future, everyone can see that. There’s less certainly about where he will be spending it.
