At nearly 6 feet 2 inches tall, high heels are completely optional for Karlie Kloss. This week, the model and tech entrepreneuer stepped out in black ballet flats twice, pairing them with ensembles typically styled with a towering high heel.

Kloss was out around the Battery Party area in New York on Monday, showing off a pair of Repetto’s Camille ballet flats, which retail for $470. The Camille ballet flat is a signature design from Maison Repetto, following the same understated, simple, and feminine design of the brand’s Cendrillon ballet flat.
However, the Camille features a discreet and comfortable one-inch heel for a modern and slender silhouette that lifts the feet slightly off the ground. The flats are made in Repetto’s workshops in France and are crafted from fine calfskin leather. The Camille style is available in a variety of finishes and colors.

The Repetto flats have become a go-to for other models like Hailey Bieber and Kaia Gerber, as well as Olivia Rodrigo and Rosalía. They are often paired with more minimalist ensembles like satin skirts, capris or a fitted pair of jeans.
Kloss paired hers with a more traditional business-casual outfit featuring a crisp white button-down shirt, a grey patterned pencil skirt, a black scarf draped over her shoulder and a structured black handbag.

On Saturday, Kloss once again opted for comfort while attending the 6th Annual Academy Museum Gala at Academy Museum of Motion Pictures. She showcased how to make a ballet flat work for a carpet at a formal event, pairing the shoes with a custom Alaïa floor-length gown in black.
On her feet, the model opted for the Gianvito Rossi Sofia Ballerina flat in black. The Sofia Ballerina shoes are crafted from calf leather and feature a pointed-toe, high-cut vamp and a tiny 10mm heel, which is 0.4 inches. The shoes retail for $945 and are also available in white and burgundy leather.
