Frontier Airlines Cancels 21 International Routes: See Full List Now

One of America’s most recognizable low-cost carriers has had a total of 21 international routes in its network this year, as Frontier Airlines redeploys its aircraft elsewhere. The airline, which has a distinct livery depicting images of more than 200 animals on its aircraft tails, has cut services from Atlanta, Baltimore, Charlotte, Denver, Orlando, Midway, Miami, O’Hare, Raleigh and Tampa.

Using data from Cirium, an online aviation analytics company, the report says the airline cut services between March and August, with Atlanta taking the brunt of the route cancellations, and the Georgia-based airport losing eight international routes.

Frontier removed a total of eight international routes from Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport (ATL) this year, all taking effect from April. While a number of these are seasonal, the airline has not scheduled them to operate again in 2027. Destinations were in the following countries or territories: Aruba, The Bahamas, Turks and Caicos Islands, Mexico, Honduras, the Dominican Republic, and Sint Maarten.

The shortest route from Atlanta was that of Nassau (NAS) in the Bahamas, at 726 miles (1,168 km), while the longest route was to the sunsoaked Dutch destination of Aruba(AUA) at 1,715 miles (2,761 km).

Popular tourist routes to the likes of Puerto Vallarta, Santo Domingo, Los Cabos and St. Maarten have all been shelved, leaving many of the routes to now be served by Atlanta hometown airline, Delta Air Lines. Full details of Atlanta cancellations are in the table below:

Miami International Airport (MIA), Orlando International Airport (MCO) and Tampa International Airport (TPA) have also experienced a reduction in the number of Frontier international routes, with the Sunshine State having lost three international routes from Miami, two from Orlando, and a further one route from Tampa. All of these services were to either the Dominican Republic, El Salvador, or Sint Maarten.

The three routes axed from Miami were to San Salvador (SAL) and Santo Domingo (SDQ) in April, followed by Punta Cana (PUJ) in August. Orlando saw its Santo Domingo route be cut in May, followed by Sint Maarten in August, and Tampa lost its nonstop service to Punta Cana in August.

The route that faced the most competition from Florida was that of Miami to San Salvador, with a total of three other operators who will soak up the seats left unserved by Frontier. The route left with just one operator is that of Orlando to Sint Maarten, with Southwest Airlines as the only airline serving the city pair.

Rounding out the list of Frontier international route cuts for 2026 are Baltimore/Washington International Thurgood Marshall Airport (BWI), Charlotte Douglas International Airport (CLT), Chicago Midway (MDW) and Raleigh–Durham International Airport (RDU), which all lost nonstop services to the popular Mexican airport of Cancun (CUN). A notable result was the Charlotte to Cancun service, which achieved terrible load factors of just 48.2% (according to US DOT data).
