- Steven Soderberg will help shoot the final weeks of ‘The Batman: Part II’
- Director Matt Reeves is dealing with a personal matter.
- Filming on the movie had been paused.
You may recall that, a week ago, we brought you the news that production was hitting pause on ‘The Batman: Part II’ as director Matt Reeves stepped away to deal with an urgent family matter.
Rather than keep everything on hold, Deadline reports that Reeves has now reached out to no less a filmmaker than Steven Soderbergh (‘Ocean’s Eleven’), who has agreed to come in and oversee the final weeks of shooting on the film, while staying in contact with Reeves.

Here’s Soderbergh’s statement on stepping in:
“I thought Matt Reeves’ work on ‘The Batman’ was stunning; it was intentional, specific, and rigorously coherent. The goal here is to work with Matt and his team to generate footage that will integrate seamlessly with what’s already been shot so Matt can properly finish his film.”
Reeves, who hit twitter to assure fans he’s not leaving the film, plans to return to oversee post-production as soon as he can.
