Emirates Launches 8 New Airbus A350 Routes From Dubai: See Full List Now

Emirates is expanding its Airbus A350 network with eight additional route deployments from Dubai International Airport (DXB) between October 2026 and March 2027. The latest expansion covers destinations across Europe, Africa, Asia, the Indian Ocean and North America, including an entirely new route to Helsinki and the airline’s first A350 service to the United States.

The expansion reflects the growing importance of the A350 to Emirates’ fleet strategy. Less than two years after receiving its first aircraft, the airline now operates 29 Airbus A350-900s, with dozens more on order. Unlike its larger Boeing 777-300ERs and Airbus A380s, the approximately 300-seat A350 offers greater flexibility to launch new routes, adjust capacity, and expand the availability of its latest premium cabins.

Emirates’ latest A350 deployments include daily flights on seven existing routes, alongside its entirely new service to Helsinki. Six of the eight A350 introductions will see the A350 replacing current Boeing 777 operations, while the new service to Rome Fiumicino Airport (FCO) will see the A350 added as a third daily flight from late March, complementing the existing 777-300ER and A380 flights.

Adding a third daily flight to existing 777-300ER and A380 service

Emirates operates two A350 configurations: a 312-seat regional version and a 298-seat long-haul variant. Both offer 32 Business Class seats in a 1-2-1 layout, while Premium Economy accommodates 21 and 28 passengers respectively. Neither aircraft features First Class, but both introduce updated Business Class cabins, improved entertainment, and a more modern Economy product. The A350 therefore supports Emirates’ wider Premium Economy expansion, complementing the ongoing refurbishment of its 777 and A380 fleets while offering better fuel efficiency than previous-generation aircraft.

The A350 therefore provides a more flexible aircraft into an Emirates fleet traditionally dominated by high-capacity widebodies. Replacing a 354-seat Boeing 777-300ER with a 298-seat A350 reduces capacity by approximately 16%, likely improving load factors and reducing trip costs. However, substituting the 276-seat Boeing 777-200LR can actually increase capacity by around 8%, while providing an updated and more premium-heavy offering. As the airline explained in recent quarterly earnings briefings, the A350 allows Emirates to match aircraft size more closely to individual markets:

“The A350 is not simply a smaller replacement for existing aircraft. It gives the airline greater freedom to balance capacity, frequency and passenger experience, supporting both expansion into new markets and more efficient operations on established routes.”

Emirates has already demonstrated how the A350 can support higher frequencies rather than simply replace existing aircraft. At Copenhagen Airport (CPH), the airline introduced an additional daily service using the A350, while Cape Town International Airport (CPT) and Phuket International Airport (HKT) have both gained a third daily flight. We can now add Rome to that list. These additions allow Emirates to offer more departure options and additional connections through Dubai, which ultimately strengthens its hub-and-spoke network.

Helsinki Airport (HEL) represents a different application: opening an entirely new market. Emirates inaugurated daily flights on October 1, establishing the only year-round nonstop connection between Finland and the UAE. The route uses a 298-seat A350, demonstrating how the aircraft can expand Emirates’ geographical reach into markets that might otherwise be difficult to serve profitably with larger aircraft.

Orlando International Airport (MCO) demonstrates a third strategy: upgrading an established long-haul service. From November 1, Emirates will replace its previously filed 777-200LR with a 298-seat A350 on daily flights to Central Florida, a route that was originally launched in 2015. Compared with the 276-seat 777-200LR configuration, the change adds 22 seats per departure, or approximately 8%. More importantly, Orlando becomes Emirates’ first US A350 destination, introducing its latest Business Class and 28-seat Premium Economy cabin to the route. The aircraft therefore enables a substantial product improvement while providing a modest capacity increase.

Emirates’ A350 Fleet Has Grown Rapidly — With 44 More To Come

Emirates received its first A350 in November 2024, before launching commercial operations between Dubai and Edinburgh Airport (EDI) on January 3, 2025. Since then, its operational A350 fleet has rapidly increased to 29 aircraft, a period of remarkable growth. To put that into perspective, Airbus delivered 114 A350s worldwide between November 2024 and September 2026, meaning Emirates’ 29 aircraft are equivalent to one-quarter of global deliveries over that period.

Another 44 A350-900s are due to arrive in the coming years, bringing Emirates’ eventual fleet to 73 aircraft. Deliveries will continue through 2031, when the final eight aircraft ordered at the Dubai Airshow 2025 are scheduled to arrive. Emirates has already increased its original 50-aircraft commitment twice, ordering another 15 in 2023 and eight in 2025. Reuters has also reported that the airline has expressed interest in a potential larger “A350-2000” variant, suggesting its current commitment may not represent the ultimate fleet size.

The result of this rapid expansion is that the A350 now has an average of 37 daily departures from Dubai, already accounting for 15% of the total departures at the Middle East giant’s megahub. While this is still a fraction of the nearly 1,000 weekly departures for the 777-300ERs, it is tremendous growth from a baseline of zero less than two years ago. With another 44 aircraft still expected, the type’s contribution will continue growing, providing Emirates with greater flexibility to expand frequencies, develop new markets, and distribute its latest onboard products across its global network.
