Demi Lovato Gets Edgy in Studded Black Pumps at The Abbey

Demi Lovato made an appearance at West Hollywood’s historic gay bar, The Abbey, this weekend in celebration of National PrEP Day. The singer and actress spent Saturday night in the company of other stars including Charlie XCX, Chappell Roan and Khloé Kardashian. Lovato sported a playful, structured ensemble for the occasion, pairing a bold corset mini dress with an edgy pair of black studded pumps.

Lovato’s dress, courtesy of Fanci Club, was a deep shade of eggplant purple and topped off with a scarlet-red lace bralette, making for a brazen club-friendly outfit only enhanced by the even more noticeable shoes. Lovato sported a darkly glamorous pair of black pointed-toe pumps with a triangle cutout detail at the vamp, all accentuated by strategically placed metallic studs. The whole thing came together in a semi-unconventional rock-chic look that fit right in for a night on the town in Los Angeles.

Lovato is no stranger to bold footwear choices, the star often opting for impossible-to-miss shoes for her red carpet looks. Last August at the premiere of “Camp Rock 3” in Burbank, Lovato showed off a pair of brown Saint Laurent patent leather pumps complete with a somewhat witchy pointed toe and dramatic 4.3 inch metal heel.

Lovato opted for similarly spellbinding Vivienne Westwood’s Elevated Ghillie platform pumps during Paris Fashion Week. The shoes were a striking shade of deep purple and featured a unique snake skin design. Her choice of shoes tend to fit her overall style, marked by touches of alternative flare.

Lovato appeared Saturday night as part of the second National PrEP Day celebration. The event was founded in 2025 by the telehealth startup MISTR. PrEP, which stands for “pre-exposure prophylaxis,” was approved in 2012 by the FDA. It was one of a series of revolutionary advances in the treatment and prevention of HIV in the early 21st century that helped slow the AIDS epidemic nationwide. Lovato was one of multiple celebrities to show up at the Abbey on Saturday night to show her support.

Ahead, see what shoes other stars wore for the occasion.
