Delta Air Lines’ 6 Major New Nonstop Routes From Los Angeles: See Flights Now


Delta Air Lines is preparing for a busy few months of route launches, with a grand total of no fewer than six new services set to take off from its West Coast hub at Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) between November and June. Of these, four are domestic, and two are international, serving a wide range of destinations across the US and, indeed, the world.

The bulk of the new additions will be operated by twinjets from Delta’s mainline fleet, with just one of the routes set to be served by one of the SkyTeam founding member’s regional partners under the Delta Connection feeder brand. Los Angeles has long been a key base for Delta Air Lines, and, next summer, it is set to operate more than 5,000 flights a month from LAX, making it a top-10 hub.

Manila Is The Most High-Profile Launch

Among the six new routes that are set to be launched by Delta in the coming months, the destination that has drawn the most intrigue is easily Manila Ninoy Aquino International Airport (MNL) in the Philippines. Although Delta first announced plans to serve this new transpacific route in July 2026, flights won’t begin until March 2027, when the seasons change.

In recent years, the Airbus A350-900 has become Delta’s new long-haul flagship. As such, it came as little surprise to see this jet rostered to the new route from Los Angeles to Manila, which will initially operate three times a week before increasing to a daily frequency in the peak summer months.

Jeff Arinder, Delta’s Vice President of Network Planning, welcomed the new route in a statement.

“The addition of Manila builds on the world-class travel experience our customers have come to expect from Delta while strengthening our position as LAX’s leading global carrier and premier West Coast hub.”

Closer To Home

As exciting as the new route to Manila is, much of Delta’s ‘bread and butter’ flying happens closer to home. With that being said, its flyers do have one more new international route from Los Angeles to look forward to in the coming months, with its destination being Vancouver International Airport (YVR). According to Cirium, an aviation analytics company, these flights will start in November.

Delta has planned an ambitious twice-daily frequency on this route, which it will serve from November 21 using the A319-100. Airbus narrowbodies are also in the picture for three of its four new domestic routes, with the A321neo serving West Palm Beach daily from November 23, Newark Liberty International Airport (EWR) twice a day from April 12, and Philadelphia daily from June 8.

This leaves one more new domestic route: a shorter intra-California service to Monterey Regional Airport (MRY). Delta plans to serve this new route twice a day from mid-December, with SkyWest Airlines’ Embraer E175 regional twinjets operating the flights on its behalf under the Delta Connection brand.

Using July 2027 as an example, Cirium’s data shows that Los Angeles is Delta’s seventh-largest hub by flights operated. Its total of 5,372 departures for that month sees it sit between John F. Kennedy International Airport (JFK) in sixth, with 6,684, and Boston Logan in eighth, with 5,356. Because LAX serves long-haul flights with widebodies, it has more seats than fifth-place New York LaGuardia.

As its largest hub, it’s little surprise that Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport (ATL) is Delta’s top route from LAX in July 2027, with up to 12 flights a day. Interestingly, however, its 78,250 seats are outranked by the 79,763 available on the route to JFK, where the 11 daily flights are operated by larger jets. At the other end of the scale, Melbourne has three flights a week.
