Marvel Announces New Spy TV Series Zodiac, Coming in 2028

Marvel Studios has announced a brand new TV series called Zodiac, which will release in 2028.

The show was officially announced at New York Comic-Con, but was reported on last month. The Hollywood Reporter had mentioned it as a secondary piece of information when reporting on the cancellation of Daredevil: Born Again. Not much is known about the project other than it is a spy story that will seemingly center around Marvel’s secretive government organization, SHIELD.

Marvel has confirmed that it will begin casting the show in the next few weeks and the series will begin filming next year. The series, like other MCU shows, will premiere on Disney+. It’s unclear exactly what the show will be about beyond the fact it’s a spy-thriller. We also have no idea which Marvel heroes will be in it. It wouldn’t be surprising if Samuel L. Jackson’s Nick Fury makes an appearance given his role within SHIELD. We can only hope that it’s better than Secret Invasion, a series that Jackson led but was deemed to be a failure.

With the show releasing in 2028, it may also be set after Avengers: Secret Wars, which Jackson confirmed he will star in. The next two Avengers movies are expected to lay the ground work for a larger reset of the MCU, though Marvel Studios boss Kevin Feige has denied that it will be a total reboot of the franchise.
