Japanese Charts: Fire Emblem Sales Plummet, But It’s Still Enough To Stay On The Podium

After last week’s charts came in a little later than usual, it has only been a matter of days since we last caught up with the Japanese game sales numbers, but Famitsu waits for no one, so we’re back with the latest update.

Our previous champion, Fire Emblem: Fortune’s Weave (which shifted over 120,000 copies in its debut week, let’s not forget), has seen a rather substantial decrease, selling only an additional 26,728. Fortunately, it has been a pretty quiet week overall, so it was still enough for Nintendo’s latest to hold onto third place.

Despite the lower sales, quite a few newbies joined the top ten this time. Derby Stallion 2 galloped its way into the top spot with ~29,000 sales, Silent Hill: Townfall got spooky in fourth, the new Switch 2 release of Dragon Quest XI took fifth, and EA Sports FC 27 took sixth and ninth on PS5 and Switch 2 respectively.

Here’s a look at the top ten in full:

The hardware charts are much as they have been for weeks (bar a slight surge for the Xbox Series X Digital Edition, which shifted over 200 units this week — good job, buddy). Switch 2 remains way out front, followed by Sony’s region-locked PS5 Digital Edition and all three Switch 1 models.

The PS5 Digital Edition has once again put up enough numbers that it outsells all Switch 1 SKUs alone. Combining the Switch 1 sales this week comes in at 6,306, while the three PS5 models combine for 9,730.
