This past July, Gap partnered with Hailey Bieber on The Hailey Jean, a limited-edition denim capsule consisting of two relaxed styles: the Extra Baggy and the ‘90’s Low Rise Loose.
Per the so-called “Hailey Bieber effect” (anything the A-lister wears, eats, makes, or puts on her skin goes viral overnight), the Gap collaboration sold out in less than 10 minutes. We counted.
Reportedly, even superfans who set dedicated alarms for the drop couldn’t grab the jeans fast enough, leading to widespread disappointment. The good news? If you’ve yet to become the lucky owner of two beloved Gap denim silhouettes — benefitting from special, Bieber-coded Easter eggs — you now have one more chance to acquire them.
At 12 p.m. EST on October 2, Gap is restocking The Hailey Jean, and this time around, we hope popular sizes linger on virtual shelves for longer.
Jeans to Shop If You Miss the Gap x Hailey Bieber Drop
According to the Zac Posen–helmed label, said sizes for women will span from a 23 to a 35 in regular lengths, with the Extra Baggy and ‘90’s Low Rise Loose models making a comeback in the same washes: Midnight Indigo, Medium Indigo, and Light Indigo.
While you wait for the big restock to happen on gap.com, we encourage you to cosign some almost-identical jeans that are just as flattering — and oh-so-’90s — as Bieber’s co-created rollouts.
Trust us when we say: These It-girl–approved arrivals are the furthest things from consolation prizes. And, as it so happens, they’re seeing strong inventory online, allowing you to shop sans panic attack.

THE PROTOTYPE
Gap Low Slung Extra Baggy Jeans
Consider this the ultimate predecessor to Bieber’s own Extra Baggy Jean: a loose-through-the-leg beaut, sold across seven hues and prints, that’s meant to pool ever so subtly around your ankles. For best results, don with your go-to retro sneakers.

SLIMMER OPTION
Gap Low Rise ’90s Loose Jeans
Bieber has been religiously repping Gap’s low-slung jeans as early as last year: pairing the laid-back, undeniably sexy style with everything from off-white tube tops and cropped tanks to Dior sweatshirts and leather jackets.
These jeans right here have been identified as her product of choice circa 2025, and if the star’s social media posts are any indication, she has a soft spot for their darker wash in particular. Capable of being dressed up (with blazers) or down (with jerseys for game day), Gap’s ’90s Loose favorite is offered in Regular, Petite, or Tall fits, with Short, Regular, or Long inseams… and the elusive Hailey Jeans cannot say the same for themselves.

DESIGNER PICK
Coach Baggy Fit Denim Jeans
Coach’s take on the oversized denim trend that’s reigning supreme as we speak isn’t an under-$60 bargain buy, but it’s worth every penny. Specs to look forward to include printed “C” patterning bedecking each pocket, a vintage-like leather Coach patch at back, and ample wiggle room for optimal range of motion.
Introduce your fresh purchase to one of the brand’s fall 2026 Brooklyn handbag releases, and it will manage to turn even more heads (that’s a promise).

LUXURY PICK
Agolde ’90s Pinch Waist Straight-Leg Jeans
Premium denim destination Agolde likes to pay homage to the core jean styles of the ’80s and ’90s while making them more directional (Taylor Swift, Rihanna, and our woman of the hour, Bieber herself, all wear the brand). For something that molds to the body better than The Hailey Jean capsule’s quick-to-sell-out selections and features a “blink and you’ll miss it” barrel shape, turn to Agolde’s ’90s Pinch Waist Straight-Leg option.
Available in sizes 23 to 33, the new-to-Nordstrom instant hit is comparably high-waisted, deemed “figure-accentuating,” and will maintain its shape-slash-rigidity after dozens of washes. Made of regenerative cotton, these jeans are good for your curves and the planet alike.
Bieber’s coveted Gap jeans, making a grand return on October 2, are leveled up with rare, never-before-seen details like custom washes, “1996” touches on the hardware and back patch that reference her birth year, and the multihyphenate’s signature found inside the pocket lining. For that reason, they’re going for $89.95 — slightly more expensive than the precursors we’ve highlighted.
Still, Gap x Hailey Bieber sits squarely in the affordable-luxury category (“affordable” because most denim these days is priced in the three figures; “luxury” because of the jeans’ sumptuous, 100-percent cotton fabrications and thoughtful craftsmanship).

“Gap has been a part of my wardrobe since I was a kid, so this came together very organically,” the collection’s 29-year-old muse shared in an official statement. “1996 was the year I was born, and I get a lot of style inspiration from the ’90s because there was something so effortless about that era and the way people wore denim. We wanted the campaign and the collection to capture that same feeling in a way that felt modern, nostalgic, and personal.”
The campaign’s imagery, also unveiled in July, sheds light on Posen and Bieber’s mutual intention for the internet-breaking launch: to help shoppers teleport, if only in spirit, to a simpler time by being reminded of its distinct sartorial ethos.

In certain shots, Bieber is sporting minimal makeup and goes completely nude, save for her Gap jeans. In others, she looks straight at the camera, hair tousled. Elsewhere, she’s showing off flip-flops underneath the denim. The end result “nod[s] to Gap’s iconic ’90s fashion imagery through clean studio visuals and subtle styling references,” the brand says.
The release’s teaser video, too, is a clear nostalgia play. Bieber loads a CD into an old-school player just as “Linger” by The Cranberries starts filling the space. Clips then reveal her lounging in an inflatable chair, filing her nails, calling from a landline, and taking mirror selfies with a point-and-shoot. A voice-over in the background claims that the ’90s were defined by personal style and “the perfect pair of jeans.”
You need not have been born in that decade to own them, and Gap is giving loyal customers another shot at stealing Bieber’s look.
