On Oct. 1, Netflix Anime announced that Dragon Ball Super: Beerus, the upcoming remake of the Dragon Ball Super anime, will be available on the popular streaming platform. A release date has not been specified, with the announcement only stating that the anime is coming in October.
Dragon Ball Super: Beerus will be released in Japan on Oct. 11. Episodes will air on Fuji TV and, 30 minutes later, on Prime Video Japan. International streaming, however, remains unclear. Anime streaming platform Crunchyroll, which broadcast the original Dragon Ball Super anime, has not yet made any official announcements regarding the remake. Meanwhile, we now know the anime will be available internationally on Netflix in some regions, but we don’t know the exact release date.
Dragon Ball Super: Beerus will be available on Netflix but only in some regions
Dragon Ball Super: Beerus will offer a modern retelling of the first three arcs of the Dragon Ball Super anime (and of the franchise’s first two movies). It’s a direct sequel to Dragon Ball Z, taking place four years after the defeat of Majin Buu, during the 10-year time skip shown in the final episode of the original series. Goku and his friends have to face a whole new level of threats, starting with the mighty God of Destruction, Beerus. Of course, this means more training and power-ups are on the way, too.
According to recent leaks, Dragon Ball Super: Beerus will have a total of 19 episodes, but the lack of details regarding the series’ international streaming remains puzzling. The leaks mention Crunchyroll will be streaming the show, but no official confirmation has appeared yet. The anime will have an early international premiere during New York Comic Con 2026, on Oct. 8. More details are bound to be revealed on that occasion. Meanwhile, fans who have a Netflix subscription should check on the app if the anime will be available in their region. For now, it should be available in the United States, at least.
It’s unclear if Netflix will stream new episodes of Dragon Ball Super: Beerus shortly after they air in Japan, as Crunchyroll usually does, or with a delay. While a massive franchise such as Dragon Ball probably doesn’t need that much promotion, the lack of information regarding the new anime’s international streaming is still concerning for fans. Hopefully, they won’t have to wait too much longer.
