S&P/TSX composite slides more than 200 points, U.S. markets post mixed results




TORONTO — Canada’s main stock index lost more than 200 points Wednesday, weighed down by losses in the basic materials sector, while U.S. markets were mixed.
The S&P/TSX composite index was down 224.40 points at 35,235.87.
