– Liverpool skipper Virgil van Dijk could join Real Madrid on a free transfer when his contract expires at the end of the 2026-27 season, according to Mundo Deportivo. The 35-year-old central defender has not received an offer of a renewal from Liverpool officials, suggesting that his time at the club could be coming to a natural conclusion. Madrid boss Jose Mourinho, who already has Van Dijk’s former teammates Trent Alexander-Arnold and Ibrahima Konaté in his defensive ranks, both also signed at the end of their Liverpool contracts, is interested in adding another center back. However, Madrid are not the only club monitoring the situation, with AC Milan, Galatasaray and Inter Miami also mentioned as potential destinations. Van Dijk joined Liverpool in 2018 and helped transform the club’s fortunes, playing his part in the club winning every domestic trophy as well as the UEFA Champions League, UEFA Super Cup and FIFA World Club Cup.

– Liverpool are interested in Club Tijuana and Mexico international midfielder Gilberto Mora, according to Football Insider. The Reds are said to be admirers of the 17-year-old, but there is significant competition emerging in the race for his signature, with Real Madrid, Barcelona, and Paris Saint-Germain also keen. The Liga MX side are expected to part ways with him at the end of the season when they believe his value will be at its highest. Mora impressed at the World Cup in the summer and has made an impressive start to the new campaign with five goals in seven matches.

– Real Madrid are monitoring the situation of Manchester City goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma, TEAMtalk reports. Madrid are assessing the transfer market for a long-term option between the posts, and they see the 27-year-old as a strong candidate to succeed Thibaut Courtois due to his experience in the Champions League. Whether City part ways with Donnarumma could hinge on their punishment after they were found guilty on Tuesday of almost all 115 financial charges brought against them by the Premier League. City have until Friday to appeal.

– Barcelona defender Jules Koundé has been placed on the shortlist of Bayern Munich, Diario Sport reports. The Serie A club are reportedly disappointed with the 28-year-old’s form and will look to sanction an exit if his performances don’t “significantly” improve. Everton, Newcastle, and Monaco checked on his situation in the summer, and the Bianconeri could be willing to accept a loan offer due to his €5.7 million-per-season salary.
