As Marvel Studios’ recent release of Avengers Endgame: Encore proves, blockbuster movies can still dominate the box office, even after a multibillion dollar run. Sony is reportedly planning a rerelease of Spider-Man: Brand New Day to bring web-head-heads back to movie theaters — and like Endgame: Encore, the studio is adding new footage of Spider-Man’s latest flick as an incentive.

According to Deadline, the new footage will include at least one cut cameo from Spider-Man: Brand New Day that connects to the larger Marvel Cinematic Universe.

Deadline reports that Sony’s planned theatrical rerelease of Spider-Man: Brand New Day will feature extra footage that includes an appearance from Rosario Dawson’s character Claire Temple, aka Night Nurse. Dawson played Temple in multiple Netflix Marvel shows: Daredevil, Jessica Jones, Luke Cage, Iron Fist, and The Defenders. The Night Nurse had her own Marvel comic series in the early ’70s, in which she tended to the medical needs of New York City’s vigilante crime fighters (though that version of the character was named Linda Carter).

Dawson has said in interviews that she filmed a scene that was cut from the theatrical release of Spider-Man: Brand New Day. Deadline’s report implies Sony has more than just a Claire Temple cameo in its pocket, saying there will be “more surprises in the extra footage.”

If accurate, this wouldn’t be the first time Sony has rereleased one of its Tom Holland-starring Spider-Man movies in theaters. The studio released an extended cut of Spider-Man: Far From Home and a “More Fun Stuff Version” of Spider-Man: No Way Home, the latter of which featured deleted scenes.

Spider-Man: Brand New Day‘s reported rerelease will no doubt help goose the film’s box office haul, which currently stands at $2.495 billion, according to Box Office Mojo. Brand New Day is the highest-grossing movie at the domestic box office to date, with $950 million after two months in theaters. It’s also the third-highest-grossing movie worldwide, behind the original Avatar and Avengers: Endgame. It’s unlikely the rerelease would put Brand New Day on top; it’s still $428 million behind James Cameron’s Avatar.

Spider-Man: Brand New Day is now in theaters — and reportedly will be again, if you miss it the first time.
