There’s the tantalizing prospect of veteran star Cristiano Ronaldo facing off against goal machine Erling Haaland on Sunday as Norway hosts Portugal in this key UEFA Nations League clash in Oslo.

Haaland provided the winning goal for the Norwegians in their entertaining 3-2 win over Denmark on Thursday. However, head coach Ståle Solbakken is likely concerned about how his Vikings gave up an early two-goal advantage in that game.

Ronaldo, meanwhile, started in Portugal’s underwhelming, narrow 1-0 win against Wales in Lisbon in midweek. New Seleção head coach Jorge Jesus may, however, opt to bench him for Sunday’s game after another ineffectual performance from the 41-year-old former Real Madrid and Manchester United forward in that victory.

Norway hosts Portugal at the Ullevaal Stadion in Oslo on Sunday, Sept. 27. Kickoff is set for 8:45 p.m. CEST local time in Norway, which is 7:45 p.m. BST in the UK. That’s a 2:45 p.m. ET or 11:45 a.m. PT kickoff in the US and Canada, and a 4:45 a.m. AEST start on Monday in Australia.
