Tulip Enhances Clienteling with Integration Builder and Shopify

Tulip, a retail customer engagement solution provider, is growing its capabilities.

This week the AG and Mulberry collaborator released its Tulip Integration Builder and expanded its Shopify Connector. The Canadian company said that together, these capabilities give merchants “more flexible ways to connect all types of data elements, including customer, inventory, order, customer service, corporate outreach and product data to Tulip.”

These new capabilities solve a big problem for retailers and brands: it’s hard to give sales associates actionable data for clienteling when all the data sets are disconnected. Tulip said effective clienteling depends on giving store associates “timely access to accurate information.”

However, traditional connectors require customization or can impose rigid data structures. And it is costly.

Integration Builder connects data from complex and multi-source environments without doing any restructuring of existing systems or turning to an external integration platform. “[Integration Builder] connects directly to APIs, flat files and cloud data platforms such as Snowflake, Databricks and BigQuery while adapting to each retailer’s existing taxonomy and schemas,” the company said in a statement.

The company said Integration Builder provides a “visual canvas and reusable components” for creating bi-directional integrations for merchants. Since it has targeted AI capabilities, the tool supports schema discovery and field mapping, which are two complex and time-consuming parts of the integration process. “The technology helps teams adjust connections as source-system schemas evolve, reducing maintenance demands and disruption risk,” the company said.

Ian Rawlins, CEO of Tulip, said retailers and brands “shouldn’t have to overhaul their data taxonomy or build custom middleware to give store associates actionable information. Standard connectors are too limited or rigid for enterprise environments, while bespoke engineering can take weeks or months.”

The CEO said Integration Builder “simply works with the data structures and connection methods retailers already use, applying visual configuration and AI-assisted tools to make integration faster and more manageable.”

In regard to the expanded capabilities of Tulip’s native Shopify Connector, the company said the upgrade reduces the time to set up Shopify environments from days or weeks to hours. The company said new multi-region and Shopify Markets support “allows brands to connect regional storefronts to a single Tulip environment while preserving product catalogs, pricing and languages.”

This means that merchants can offer consistent clienteling experiences across global markets—and without maintaining a separate integration for each storefront.

This past March, Tulip merged with Salesfloor. The merger comes at a time when clienteling and personalization are in high demand. According to Tulip’s Global 2025 Clienteling Benchmark Report, “customers who receive personalized outreach make 49 percent more purchases and spend 63 percent more per month,” the report noted. “Retailers see 53 percent higher customer value within six months, while clienteling conversion rates average 11 percent—more than double traditional mass marketing, with top performers reaching 37 percent.”

At the time of the merger, Rawlins said the future “of retail isn’t less human—it’s more human, powered by AI in the hands of sales associates.”

The combined company operates under the Tulip brand and supports about 100 enterprise-level retail clients and more than 100,000 sales associates across more than 70 countries.
