Apple’s MacBooks are some of the most feature-packed laptops on the market, but they aren’t very affordable. Apple also recently announced sweeping price hikes across MacBooks, iPads and smart home products, which have already pushed the MacBook Neo’s price up by $100.

Direct discounts on MacBooks are rare at the best of times and even harder to come by right now. We’ve combed the internet to find all the ways you can save on your purchase. If you’re looking for other Apple gear, such as iPads, Apple Watches and iPhones, we’re tracking those prices, too.

Keep in mind that prices can shift fast, so if something catches your eye, go ahead and grab the deal. And check back often, as we’ll continue to update this page as deals come and go.

Best M5 MacBook deals

Apple upgraded the 14-inch MacBook Pro with a new cutting-edge M5 chip. The base M5 model was released in October 2025, with the M5 Pro and M5 Max models just added in March. However, due to the memory shortage plaguing the tech industry, the starting price of the 14-inch MacBook Pro has just jumped from $1,699 to $1,999, and the 16-inch model has gone from $2,699 to $2,999. The M5 MacBook Air isn’t immune to the price hikes. The 13-inch model now starts at $1,299 — a $200 increase — and the 15-inch has likewise gone up by $200 to $1,499.

Best Buy isn’t offering a direct discount at the moment, but you can save a few bucks by trading in your old laptop. Models from Apple, Microsoft, Acer, HP and most major brands are accepted, but your trade-in can’t exceed the cost of the new laptop. You also receive three months of Apple Music and Apple Arcade with your purchase, as well as two months of Apple News.

Apple’s own site is the obvious choice if you’re looking to snag the new M5 MacBook Pro. The basic 14-inch model comes equipped with a 10-core CPU, 16GB of RAM and 512GB of storage and now starts at $1,999. If you’re looking to upgrade, you can save by trading in your old Mac. You’ll also get 3% cash back when you purchase with your Apple Card*.

You can currently save $50 by opting for the 16GB MacBook Pro in space black. There’s also potential to save more if you’ve got an older Apple device to trade in. If you pay with a Payboo Credit Card*, you can save a little on the tax as well.

Best Buy isn’t offering any direct discounts, but you can take advantage of its trade-in program to save. You also get Apple freebies with your purchase like three free months of Apple Music and Arcade, and two months of Apple News Plus.

Best MacBook Neo deals

The MacBook Neo is Apple’s newest laptop, and it’s the most affordable one yet, though the starting price is now $699, up $100 from launch. We rounded up where you can purchase the new MacBook Neo below, along with any potential savings available, which at this point are mostly limited to trade-in offers.

You can now buy a MacBook Neo at Apple for $699. Students and teachers can save $100, bringing the starting price to $599. 

If you have a laptop you’re trying to get rid of, you can trade it in to shave a little more off that price. Plus, if you use an Apple Card,* you can get 3% back.

There are no direct discounts on the MacBook Neo at Best Buy. However, you’ll get several Apple freebies with your purchase. This includes three free months of Apple Music and Apple Arcade. You can also get one free month of Apple TV and up to two free months of Apple News Plus. 

Additionally, if you have another device, you can save a bit by trading it in. The value of the trade-in depends on the condition of your device.

Target isn’t currently offering any direct discounts on the MacBook Neo, and it lists the starting price as $1 more than other outlets, but it does have all colors in stock. If you have a Target Circle Card,* you can save 5% on your purchase.

Best M4 MacBook deals

With the M5 price increases, many of us are looking toward the previous gen, M4 chip Macs. If you’re upgrading from an M1 or M2, you’ll find the speed and performance a marked improvement and the price tag a little less shocking than the M5. Right now, the M4 MacBook isn’t available in new condition at retailers, but we’ll update this piece if that changes.

Best M3 MacBook deals

The M3 lineup is not as widely available anymore. However, Best Buy has a number of refurbished models available that you can consider grabbing. We will also keep an eye out for any new deals that pop up and add them here as they become available.

Best M2 MacBook deals

Like the M3 MacBook lineup, the M2 MacBooks are even harder to find. Best Buy does have a number of refurbished options on sale that you can snag today, though.

How are Apple’s price rises affecting MacBook deals?

The price increases mean deals are harder to come by than they used to be, but third-party retailers like Amazon and Best Buy are finding ways to undercut the new list prices, so not all hope is lost. Direct discounts on Apple products were already rare before the hike. Now, they’re even scarcer. Trade-ins are currently your best bet for meaningful savings. You could go the route of an older M4-gen model, but deals on those are drying up too.

Apple is the latest in a line of tech companies to raise prices citing component costs, a trend that’s showing no signs of slowing down. CNET’s Scott Stein believes that how far prices climb from here could ultimately depend on where chips are sourced and how readily available they are. For now, the savings are still out there. They just take a little more hunting than they used to.
