Scalpers are already reselling the sold-out Zelda 40th Anniversary Switch 2 for £700+

Nintendo’s new Legend of Zelda 40th anniversary Switch 2 sold out within hours of preorders opening, and scalpers are already scalping, with dozens of orders popping up on eBay for close to double its retail price.

Nintendo announced a new Zelda-themed console earlier this week, with Link-green Joy-Cons and a triangular pattern inspired by the golden glow of the Triforce. Plus, there’s a similarly styled Switch 2 Pro Controller and carry case coming, too.

Retailers listed the console for preorder at around £435, £15 more than the standard Switch 2. All sold out almost immediately and Nintendo hasn’t yet made the special edition available for preorder through its own store, nor said anything about restocking it before launch.

As GamesRadar+ reports, scalpers have since listed the console on eBay for anywhere between $700 and $985 (that’s £520-£730ish). Some listings bundle it with the upcoming Ocarina of Time remake, even though Nintendo isn’t offering any such bundle.

The Zelda-themed Switch 2 launches on 29th October, a week ahead of the Ocarina of Time remake itself, which arrives on 5th November.
