Lobby Wrap: Software firm wants to talk procurement modernization

Six consultants from StrategyCorp registered this past week to lobby on behalf of ServiceNow Canada.

The Canadian wing of an American software firm is looking to talk to the feds about its cloud-based platforms and modernizing procurement policies.

Six consultants from StrategyCorp registered this past week to lobby on behalf of ServiceNow Canada.

According to their filings with the Office of the Commissioner of Lobbying, the company wants to discuss with government “procurement modernization,” particularly as “it relates to the standards, terms, conditions and policies that underpin the Government of Canada’s procurement of enterprise software, cloud-based services, and workflow automation platforms.”

ServiceNow is also seeking to discuss how federal departments are adopting “workflow automation and enterprise software platforms to improve government service delivery, operational efficiency, and citizen-facing services.”

The California-based parent company supplies cloud computing platforms focused on the creation and management of automated business workflows.

New Registrations

Since Sept. 5, the aforementioned ServiceNow Canada was the most registered organization, with six unique registrations made on their behalf. Next was Honeywell Aerospace, which had four.

Over that span, the also aforementioned StrategyCorp Inc. led all registrant groups with seven unique registrations.

From Sept. 5-11, Hamza Kamal from Northern Arc Public Affairs was the most active lobbyist, with four unique filings.

In recent agriculture/trade registrants:

Paper Excellence Canada was registered by William Hicks, a consultant with PAA Advisors, to facilitate discussions with the federal government on various topics, specifically, economic growth, innovation, sustainability and environment, and product diversification.

In recent energy/environment/climate registrants:

The Canadian Nuclear Association was registered by Elizabeth Kilborn and Dan Lovell, both consultants with Sussex Strategy Group, to advocate to the federal government and its agencies for greater support for Canada’s nuclear industry.

Additionally, the client sought to discuss updates to the Government of Canada’s public sector procurement policies.
