Nicole Kidman meant business on Thursday night in a Chanel suit for “The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon,” where she continued to promote her new movie, “Practical Magic 2.”

The Oscar-winning actress wore a look from the French luxury fashion house’s fall 2026 pre-collection, designed by Matthieu Blazy. The textured gray suit paired trousers with a single-breasted, long-sleeve blazer featuring hip pockets and sinuous lapels.

The gold button motif at the center of the blazer was replicated with buttons in a line down the cuffs of Kidman’s blazer. Underneath, Kidman paired a white collared dress shirt with a pop of color, thanks to a red, white and blue tie. Marli rings completed the suited style.

Kidman’s look continues the women’s tailoring trend that surged in 2024 and has held on since. Hannah Bond, the womenswear representative at 203-year-old bespoke tailor Norton & Sons, told WWD at the time that the sartorial statement was a byproduct of the “broader cultural shifts toward sustainability, individuality and the rejection of fast fashion.”

“As more women ascend to leadership roles and seek professional attire that embodies confidence and style, the demand for high-quality, tailor-made clothing has grown,” Bond added.

While the suited style certainly continued the capitalization on the tailored trends for women, the choice of Chanel also reaffirmed Kidman’s renewed ties to the French luxury fashion house. Kidman, who starred in a Baz Luhrmann-directed Chanel No. 5 commercial in the early aughts, was named an ambassador to the fashion house in October 2025.

“As someone who has such an appreciation for haute couture, I am so looking forward to witnessing Matthieu’s vision for the oldest haute couture house still in operation and having the opportunity to wear what I know will be gorgeous creations,” Kidman said in a statement, referencing the maison’s creative director, Blazy.

“Chanel has always been ahead of the curve, shining a smart and gracious light on women, and I am sure Matthieu will be no exception, just like Karl did in his time.”

Kidman stars alongside Sandra Bullock in “Practical Magic 2.” The film, a sequel to the 1998 film based on the novel by Alice Hoffman, follows sisters and witches Gillian and Sally Owens as they work together to break a generations-long curse on the women in their family. The film is now in theaters.
